Lamp Buddy is my first lamp design: a warm, modern companion made for people who love clean contemporary objects but crave a little more character in their space. Inspired by the modern art and architecture of CDMX, this piece takes the crisp language of minimal design and softens it with rounded cubes, gentle diffusion, and a pair of cheerful little feet that turn the lamp into something more than just an object... It becomes a buddy!
The shade’s grid-like form is 3D printed with a smooth, refined finish that disguises the usual printed layers, creating a soft, even glow when illuminated. A warm 2700K LED puck light sits inside, washing the cubes in a cozy amber tone that feels comforting in the evening and uplifting during the day.
Designed to spark joy, Lamp Buddy fits seamlessly into a desk setup, nightstand, shelf, or creative workspace. It’s a sculptural accent for modern design lovers, but with a playful twist. It's the kind of lamp that makes you smile back :).

Modern minimalism often leans cold, clean, and serious... but I’ve always felt design can be simple and joyful. Lamp Buddy is my attempt to blend contemporary form with a bit of warmth and charm. The small feet were the first detail I sketched; they turned the lamp from an object into a tiny companion. My hope is that Lamp Buddy brings a moment of delight to your day each time you switch it on.

How do I power the lamp?
Lamp Buddy uses a plug-in LED puck light. Just plug it into any standard wall outlet and use the inline switch to turn it on or off.
Can I use the lamp without it being plugged in?
No. Lamp Buddy is not battery-powered — it must remain plugged in to operate.
Can I change the bulb?
The LED puck light is built into the lamp and is not replaceable. LED lights have a very long lifespan, so you shouldn’t need to change it.
Can I adjust the brightness or color temperature?
The lamp emits a warm 2700K light and is not dimmable. It’s designed to provide a soft, cozy glow with simple on/off control.
Is the lamp safe to touch?
Yes. The LED puck light stays cool and operates at a safe low voltage (DC 12V).
